July is National Ice Cream Month, and Blue Bell is celebrating with a new flavor.

Monster Cookie Dough ice cream arrives in stores beginning today in half gallon and pint sizes for a limited time, according to the company.

Monster Cookie Dough is described as vanilla ice cream with hints of brown sugar with peanut butter monster cookie dough pieces, candy-coated chocolate pieces and dark chocolate chunks.

Blue Bell Marketing Brand Manager Sara Schramm said, like monster cookies, the ice cream combines ingredients from other cookies, such as chocolate chips, peanut butter and candy pieces.

The Texas-based ice cream company has a manufacturing plant in Sylacauga.

And Blue Bell has been busy rolling out new flavors lately, including Java Jolt, Dr Pepper Float, and two other flavors earlier this year.
